Bug description:
This is the reopening of bug #412527 for Natty.
There is a DVD eject button on these laptops, if they're pressed the drive is
ejected but the DVD won't be mounted after insertion. However the "eject cdrom"
command works.
Further info in the previously mentioned bug.
WORKAROUND #1: (should always work)
Instead of pressing the hardware button enter this command in the command
line: eject cdrom
WORKAROUND #2: (works for some people including me)
In the BIOS set SATA mode from AHCI to IDE.
WORKAROUND #3: (works for some people but not for me)
Use the noacpi kernel parameter the following way:
1) sudo gedit /etc/default/grub
2) change the line
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
to the following
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash noacpi"
3) save
4) sudo update-grub
5) restart the system
