Title:
  ZTE-MF633 3G modem isn't detected Ubuntu 9.10

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix
Status in Baltix:
  New

Bug description:
  ZTE-MF633 3G modem isn't detected Ubuntu 9.10 until I create a file named
/etc/modprobe.d/zte-mf633.conf with this content:
  options usbserial vendor=0x19d2 product=0x0031

When I add "options usbserial vendor=0x19d2 product=0x0031" then ZTE-
MF633 3G modem is detected by Network-Manager but only if modem is
plugged-in during Ubuntu startup. If I plug in ZTE-MF633 3G modem when
Ubuntu is started, then it doesn't appear in Network-Manager even if
  file /etc/modprobe.d/zte-mf633.conf exists.

  See http://www.opensourcetutor.com/2010/03/07/bigpond-nextg-zte-mf633
  -modem-with-ubuntu-9-10/ for more info.

Btw, this bug may be related to bug #408555 (ZTE MF636 3G modem cannot
used in Karmic) - it seems both modems (MF633 and MF636) has the same
  USB ID: 19d2:0031
