Title:
package linux-image-3.5.0-26-generic 3.5.0-26.42~precise1 failed to
install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script
returned error exit status 2
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Won't Fix
Bug description:
We have the upstream Precise 3.5 series kernel installed. Older 3.2
kernels are also installed but not used. Every kernel update requires
moving the
/lib/modules/3.?.?-??-generic/kernel/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915.ko out
of the tree before allowing initramfs-tools run. So each update
requires moving that driver out of the tree, doing the apt-get upgrade
or apt-get dist-upgrade, then moving the module back. Others have
reported this behavior with the above workaround. I don't know if
this relates directly to this bug report, but I can't imagine it
doesn't affect it somehow. All installed i915.ko modules in each
kernel's tree must be moved or initramfstools won't complete and just
hangs forever.
Also, my email address in case you want more info is [email protected].
I need to update the account since there is rarely a bug to report!
