The graphics causing the problem is "i965 express"

The problem of the long boot can be fixed with a boot option to be added
as described in bug #1767808 already = the same bug. That worked for my
16.04 installation.

The problem affects at least Ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04.

Title:
errors at boot and long boot time

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I tried to install Xubuntu 18.04 LTS on a Fujitsu Lifebook E8310 but this did
not boot.
I then installed Xubuntu 16.04 LTS 64bit and it boots but it takes quite a
long time.
DMESG shows a number of error messages starting at 12 seconds, its output
file is attached.
The errors seem to relate to the graphics which is recognized as i915 but may
be actually i955 related with the T9300 CPU that I use.
The Lifebook itsself is OK as the original XP 32bit runs without any problem.
