Title:
too many volatile tmpfs in mtab (in persistent mode only)

Status in Casper:
  New
Status in linux-restricted-modules package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
hi, i noticed a lot of "/lib/modules/<kernel-version>/volatile" entries in my
mtab, one for every boot i did! Is it normal? What if reach a limit (if there
is one)?
I use kubuntu intrepid 8.10 live with persistence (created with usb-creator)
and here is the entire /etc/mtab:

  /proc /proc proc rw 0 0
  sysfs /sys sysfs rw 0 0
  tmpfs /lib/modules/2.6.27-7-generic/volatile tmpfs rw,mode=0755 0 0
  tmpfs /lib/init/rw tmpfs rw,nosuid,mode=0755 0 0
  varrun /var/run tmpfs rw,nosuid,mode=0755 0 0
  varlock /var/lock tmpfs rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,mode=1777 0 0
  udev /dev tmpfs rw,mode=0755 0 0
  tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs rw,nosuid,nodev 0 0
  devpts /dev/pts devpts rw,noexec,nosuid,gid=5,mode=620 0 0
  rootfs / rootfs rw 0 0
  fusectl /sys/fs/fuse/connections fusectl rw 0 0
  /dev/sdb1 /cdrom vfat
rw,fmask=0022,dmask=0022,codepage=cp437,iocharset=iso8859-1 0 0
  /dev/loop0 /rofs squashfs ro,noatime 0 0
  tmpfs /tmp tmpfs rw,nosuid,nodev 0 0
  tmpfs /lib/modules/2.6.27-9-generic/volatile tmpfs rw,mode=0755 0 0
  tmpfs /lib/modules/2.6.27-9-generic/volatile tmpfs rw,mode=0755 0 0
  securityfs /sys/kernel/security securityfs rw 0 0
  tmpfs /lib/modules/2.6.27-9-generic/volatile tmpfs rw,mode=0755 0 0

i did only 3 reboot so only 3 extra-entries, but it will continue to grow...
(first boot was with -7 kernel, then i installed the -9, but if you just create
the usb persistent system and do some reboots the result will be the same)
Installing to hd it's all fine, i get this only in live/casper/persistent
mode, so maybe this bug (if there is one) it's more related to "casper" project
then the linux-restricted-modules package, but i don't know exactly where the
bugged code is...
I also noticed that /sbin/lrm-manager mounts the tmpfs only if
volatile/.mounted file is missing, and i have this file...
  thanks
