No longer affects me because I have sold the laptop that was affected. With my current laptop and Ubuntu 13.10, I cannot reproduce this issue. Perhaps Amir can still reproduce the problem with his setup? Amir, please respond if so.

When I hit the suspend key, the screen goes blank and the CPU fan ramps up to maximum. But the laptop does not ever suspend, it just sits there with the fan whirring. This seems to be a regression- I had experienced this issue in 11.04, it was fixed in 11.10, but is back again in 12.04.
