Also affected by this bug, Zenbook 15 UX534FAC_UX534FA on a freshly
installed Ubuntu 20.04 in dual boot with Windows 10: no sound on
internal speakers in Ubuntu but USB audio speakers work. Same sound card
as others etc.

I know it is a bit far fetched, but would it be possible that the
required switch of SATA mode in the BIOS between Intel Rapid Storage
Technology (RST) (required for booting Windows) and AHCI mode (required
to have any Linux distribution detect the NVMe drive) have something to
do with this?

Last year I helped someone set up Ubuntu on a Zenbook UX333FA, and when
faced with the same situation (no sound/crackling in Ubuntu only), we
used the workaround of shutting down Windows completely instead of
rebooting, then coming from a cold boot the sound was working with the
appropriate kernel (4.19 IIRC). But here, in between the two OS we
always have to switch between SATA mode... Or am I the only one?

Thank you

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Hi,

after instal Ubuntu in dual boot alongside Windows 10, I've realised
there is no sound coming out of mine new ASUS Zenbook 15 UX534FT-
AA024R in Ubuntu. In Windows there is no problem. Found this topic
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1810214 which had
the same problem with driver for Realtek ALC294 which is also mine
sound card. But even with this fix it is not working on UX534FT. Can
you please add fix also for this newer model?
