It wasn't missing driver, the new driver rtw88 is now responsible of
driven RTL8822BE, not the staging driver rtl8822be that existed for some
time (v4.14 ~ v5.1)[1]. In the old age, rtl8822be has a parameter "aspm"
and users may disable it to work-around this issue, and that is not
possible so far with the new rtw88 driver.

Can you have a try on Let's proof
that's the root cause first. You should run following commands to
install kernel packages:

  $ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vicamo/ppa-1879575
  $ sudo apt install \
      linux-modules-extra-5.4.0-33-generic=5.4.0-33.37+lp1879575 \
      linux-modules-5.4.0-33-generic=5.4.0-33.37+lp1879575 \

Note this ppa build may take several hours from now to finish. Reboot
into the new kernel and attach system journal either it works or not:

  $ journalctl -b > journal.log

Please attach that journal.log file as attachment here.

By the way, I have also one RTL8822BE chip, but it works just fine in
