Public bug reported: Description: Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS Release: 18.04 After installing updates a week ago, the wifi connection could not connect anymore. Another (minor) problem is, that the machine reboots after shutting down. The same two problems occured some years ago (and went away) after kernel updates (I guess it was Ubuntu 16.04).
When I boot Ubuntu 20.04 from USB, wifi works w/o problems. I'm not sure about the Kernel as cause for the problem, but here is the list of updated packages from the day, the problem occured: updated (24.05.): dmeventd (2:1.02.145-4.1ubuntu3.18.04.2) to 2:1.02.145-4.1ubuntu3.18.04.3 dmsetup (2:1.02.145-4.1ubuntu3.18.04.2) to 2:1.02.145-4.1ubuntu3.18.04.3 elmerfem-csc (8.4-0ppa0-202005180232~61b7f5c~ubuntu18.04.1) to 8.4-0ppa0-202005220929~d3ea5ba~ubuntu18.04.1 libdevmapper-event1.02.1 (2:1.02.145-4.1ubuntu3.18.04.2) to 2:1.02.145-4.1ubuntu3.18.04.3 libdevmapper1.02.1 (2:1.02.145-4.1ubuntu3.18.04.2) to 2:1.02.145-4.1ubuntu3.18.04.3 liblvm2app2.2 (2.02.176-4.1ubuntu3.18.04.2) to 2.02.176-4.1ubuntu3.18.04.3 liblvm2cmd2.02 (2.02.176-4.1ubuntu3.18.04.2) to 2.02.176-4.1ubuntu3.18.04.3 lvm2 (2.02.176-4.1ubuntu3.18.04.2) to 2.02.176-4.1ubuntu3.18.04.3 teamviewer (15.5.3) to 15.5.6 wine-devel (5.8~bionic) to 5.9~bionic wine-devel-amd64 (5.8~bionic) to 5.9~bionic wine-devel-i386:i386 (5.8~bionic) to 5.9~bionic winehq-devel (5.8~bionic) to 5.9~bionic removed (24.05.): linux-headers-5.3.0-46 linux-headers-5.3.0-46-generic linux-image-5.3.0-46-generic linux-modules-5.3.0-46-generic linux-modules-extra-5.3.0-46-generic ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "dmesg, lspci, lsb_release" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1881408/+attachment/5378728/+files/logs.tgz -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1881408 Title: Qualcomm Atheros AR9287 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) cannot establish connection after Kernel update Status in linux package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Description: Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS Release: 18.04 After installing updates a week ago, the wifi connection could not connect anymore.
