Public bug reported: In ubuntu 20.04 running linux kernel 5.4.0.33, running the updater resulted in a frozen, irresponsive mouse and keyboard, and the laptop wouldn't suspend when closing the lid. Upon reboot, the laptop froze before reaching the login screen.
To workaround, I rebooted, held the shift key and entered the grub menu, and booted using the prior kernel, linux 5.4.0.31. Then it worked. Grub was listing both linux 5.4.0.31 and linux 5.4.0.33, with the latter being the default and the one that froze upon booting after the botched update. Upon booting to linux 5.4.0.31, apt-get reported an unfinished package installation. ```sudo dpkg --configure -a``` solved the issue without incident, updating grub with a new entry for linux 5.4.0.37. Haven't yet tried to reboot into it.
