Christopher, after thinking about this, I know a workaround -- eject the DVD drive from the docking station -- so it's not worth putting effort into fixing the problem if there isn't one in Trusty ... which was my original target as LTS when it is formally released.
My main reason for filing the bug report was to confirm Bug #1258838 . -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1270980 Title: [Lenovo ThinkPad X230T] suspend in dock, undock, then resume screen doesn't respond to keyboard Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I have a Thinkpad X230T in an Ultrabase Series 3 docking station. If I suspend the laptop when it is docked, undock the laptop, and then try to resume, the keyboard doesn't respond and the mouse cursor does not appear. To reboot the computer, I pull the battery. This is a new computer, with Windows 7 installed on the original SATA drive, and Ubuntu 13.10 on the mSATA drive. Following the pattern in Bug #1258838, if the DVD drive is ejected from the Ultrabase so that it is not present before undocking, the suspend and resume functions normally.
