Title:
  display problems with wayland

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I upgraded from 21.10 to 22.04 pre-beta. xorg isn't working (separate
bug filed for that), so I switched to wayland. Using gnome, kde, and
ubuntu desktops under wayland is giving problems with chrome and brave
browsers. If I have a single window open, it's pretty good, but if I
have multiple windows open (a half dozen for brave, 33 for chrome is
typical for me), the screen frequently flickers and I get portions of
  the different windows showing up.

In many ways this is similar to screen tearing (historically fixed
with vsync updating in X), but it doesn't have a clean edge to it, and
it's not a matter of top of the screen one image, bottom the other,
instead it's a band (~1/4 of the screen high, not always in the same
location, but tends to be ~1/3 down from the top more frequently) and
in that band I see portions of other windows that are behind the
  forground window.
