I'm glad to see that the commit: 663d34c8df98 663d34c8df98740f1e90241e78e456d00b3c6cad "s390/hypfs: include z/VM guests with access control group set" got tagged for stable update: "Cc: sta...@vger.kernel.org" With that, such commits will automatically be picked up by the Ubuntu kernel team's "<Focal> update: vx.x.xxx upstream stable release" process.
And this already happend for this upstream commit 663d34c8df98 "s390/hypfs: include z/VM guests with access control group set" and it landed as: c69c6a859ddf in focal and is included in "Ubuntu-5.4.0-108.122" and newer kernels, 2c1d2cb370a0 in impish and is included in "Ubuntu-5.13.0-40.45" and newer kernels, and as 385f0593f13e in jammy and is included in "Ubuntu-5.15.0-20.20" and newer kernels. And since the commit got upstream accepted with 5.17, it will automatically be part of the planned kinetic kernel (5.19). With this I'm closing this bug as Fix Released. ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Jammy) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Impish) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Focal) Status: New => Fix Released ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Impish) Status: New => Fix Released ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Jammy) Status: New => Fix Released ** Changed in: ubuntu-z-systems Status: New => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1977510 Title: [UBUNTU 20.04] hypfs: fix listing z/VM guests with access control group set Status in Ubuntu on IBM z Systems: Fix Released Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in linux source package in Focal: Fix Released Status in linux source package in Impish: Fix Released Status in linux source package in Jammy: Fix Released Bug description: Description: hypfs: fix listing z/VM guests with access control group set Symptom: hypfs/hyptop info doesn't include z/VM guests with access control group set Problem: Currently if z/VM guest is allowed to retrieve hypervisor performance data globally for all guests (privilege class B) the query is formed in a way to include all guests but the group name is left empty. This leads to that z/VM guests which have access control group set not being included in the results (even local vm). Solution: Change the query group identifier from empty to "any" to retrieve information about all guests from any groups (or without a group set). Reproduction: Run hyptop under z/VM from a guest with privilege class B and some guest(s) with RACF/ACI groups set.
