Steps to reproduce: - Fresh install Kubuntu 22.04, minimal install, autologin. Install all updates as of 9/9/2022. - PCs we have tried: Dell Optiplex 7060, Lenovo ThinkCentre M73 - Monitor is connected via displayport. - Verify Kubuntu has installed correctly and everything is working. Shut down. - Turn off monitor via its power button. - Turn on PC. Wait for Kubuntu to boot. - Turn on Monitor. It shows "No Signal" and goes back to sleep. Expected behaviour: It displays the desktop as normal. - Pressing Ctrl+Alt+F2 will wake the monitor with the command prompt. Pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1 to switch to desktop will put the monitor back to sleep again with No Signal. - Connecting to the PC via a remote desktop software will only show a black screen instead of the desktop. GUI Applications autostarted via startup script will still be displayed, though. - I haven't found any way to get the desktop to display, except for restarting the PC with the monitor turned on. I have a specific use case where sometimes the monitor is off when a PC is booted, and it needs to function correctly when the monitor turns on later. Hopefully this is reproduceable on your end, and a solution or workaround can be found. Happy to supply any further information if needed.
