In that case please try selecting the 'Ubuntu' login option and then
look at Settings > About to confirm that Wayland is being used. Does the
flicker still occur there?

Title:
  [Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen2] Flickering started right after install

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  My computer is a Lenovo Thinkpad p-Series Gen 2 with Intel Core i9.
  I've tried updating my grub file as is suggested in Bugs #1970426,
  #1958191, and #1973676.

  That is, I've tried

  GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash i915.enable_dc=0
  intel_idle.max_cstate=2"

  And, I've tried cstate=4.
