We have carefully considered the possibility of reverting the NFS-related patches and have consulted with both our kernel team and specialists. While we acknowledge that the patch does address a functional error as outlined in LP#2003053, we also recognize that the bug responsible for the misbehavior of the new mechanism has been fixed. However, we understand that the current impact on performance resulting from the additional traffic is a significant concern. Despite the fact that the new mechanism adheres to the principles of POSIX design, we are faced with the challenge of devising an appropriate approach to address this issue.
