Title:
tpm chip timeout at boot
Status in linux-hwe-6.8 package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
When booting the tpm chip times out and is not showing up in /dev.
Relevant Output of "dmesg | grep -i tpm":
[ 2.996408] tpm tpm0: Operation Timed out
[ 6.202396] tpm tpm0: Operation Timed out
[ 6.202401] tpm_crb: probe of MSFT0101:00 failed with error -62
[ 6.255296] ima: No TPM chip found, activating TPM-bypass!
I confirmed that it is the kernel by switching to 6.5.0-45-generic and
everything worked.
Ubuntu release: Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS
linux-hwe-6.8-headers-6.8.0-40 version: 6.8.0-40.40~22.04.3
linux-hwe-6.8-tools-6.8.0-40 version: 6.8.0-40.40~22.04.3
linux-image-6.8.0-40-generic version: 6.8.0-40.40~22.04.3
Expected behavior: tpm working
What happened: tpm timed out and is not showing up, so it can't be
used
