Title:
[STAGING] [Realtek RTL8192SU] module r8192s_usb should be replaced by
module r8712u
Status in Linux:
Fix Committed
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
When I insert the usb D-Link DWA 131 wifi dongle, no wireless network can be
detected despite the wireless adaptor is listed in Network Manager applet.
It seems that the module r8192s_usb can't set up the wireless interface
correctly regarding dmesg.
Please note that I also use an embeded wireless card using iwlagn module.
(Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300)
I don't know if it can be a conflict made by the use of 2 wireless interface.
But I can't switch off this card without disabling all wireless network
adaptor (even the usb dongle).
I try 2.6.36rc8 and 2.6.36 kernel from
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ but there is the same
issue.
I'm running Xubuntu 10.10 fresh updated includng maverick-proposed.
