Bug description:
Whenever i try to sudo apt-get install something, I get an error
  related to the linux image:

  Processing triggers for libc-bin ...
ldconfig deferred processing now taking place
  Errors were encountered while processing:
   linux-image-2.6.38-11-generic
  E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

I also have issues booting using any linux image newer than
