Title:
  ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx does not

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: linux-image-virtual

I have a *relatively* unaltered install of Ubuntu Desktop running in
VirtualBox 4.0.4 and I recently upgraded from a working Maverick to a
  working Natty beta1.

I decided to try the "linux-image-virtual" kernel, so I installed it,
  along with the appropriate headers.

I proceeded to reboot, hoping to try the new kernel, when I was
surprised by this error message and dropped to an initramfs prompt.
(Error: in title, but with my real UUID, i checked that it is the
  correct one)

Choosing one of the existing "linux-image" standard kernels still
works, and I even dist-upgraded from .7 to .8 on both the standard and
virtual kernels, and still the standard works but the virtual doesn't.

Sorry I'm not more help in digging deeper into this, but I'm willing
to help get it sorted out. Let me know what additional information I
can provide that would be helpful.

  Thanks!
