Title:
  No sound with VT1708s

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix
Status in openSUSE:
  New

Bug description:
Works fine in 10.04 but not in 10.10 or 11.04. Everything seems to
indicate that there is sound but there is no sound from the front
  headphones or the rear jacks.

Correct device is selected in Kmix, volume is turned up. I've searched
forums and used the ubuntu troubleshooting pages.
