Title:
  package linux-image-2.6.38-8-generic 2.6.38-8.42 failed to
  install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation
  script returned error exit status 2

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
  I booted into Ubuntu and received the messagebox which said the 11.04
  version was available. I clicked Upgrade and it spent almost 45 mins
  downloading the files. It started installing and asked if I wanted to
  keep the current grub or upgrade. I use Lilo so I said to leave it
  alone. It then errored out on the above linux kernel and the
  initramfs. It said the upgrade failed and then rolled back. I agreed
  to submit this bug and the one about the initramfs, which is in
  another report.

  Thanks
