Title:
Left-click clears PRIMARY buffer selection (Copy-paste with middle-
button/mouse wheel fails)
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Won't Fix
Bug description:
This bug was associated with “gtk+2.0”: see
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+2.0/+bug/34629
I have a similar problem in Ubuntu 12.04:
- Copy-paste with mouse wheel fails
+ Left-click clears PRIMARY buffer selection (Copy-paste with middle-
+ button/mouse wheel fails)
To reproduce, try the following steps in gedit, geany or jedit (same
in old bug-report):
1) Select some text, thus copying it to the primary copy-paste-buffer-thingy.
2) *Left* click somewhere on the document, thus clearing the selection.
3) Click mouse wheel (middle click).
The problem does not appear in Kate, but Kate is too slow for me when
working remotely (gvfs).
Following a suggestion of a user in the old bug-report cited above, I
installed glipper. This solved the problem in geany and jedit, but not
in gedit.
Thank you,
Stefan
