Title:
Symlinks to current kernel and initrd should be in /boot

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
Ubuntu create and maintains symlinks to the current kernel and initrd
  in /.

That's nice, but it would be even better if those symlinks was in /boot
instead of (or in addition to) /.
That would be useful when using other bootloaders than grub when /boot is a
separate partition.
