Could be connected to bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-signed-
hwe-6.8/+bug/2094733, but my issue relates to the 6.11 version line not
6.8 and I'm not sure if it is its own thing or the same underlying issue
"ported" to different minor kernel versions
** Also affects: linux-hwe-6.11 (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
** Description changed:
By running "apt upgrade" on my Lenovo Legion laptop (Nvidia GPU) with 2
- external machines, running Kubuntu 24.10, I updated a bunch 2 month old
+ external displays, running Kubuntu 24.10, I updated a bunch 2 month old
packages on my daily-driver system to their newest versions - including
an automatic update from kernel version:
6.11.0-9-generic
to:
6.11.0-13-generic (Ubuntu 6.11.0-13.14-generic 6.11.0)
On the newer kernel version both of my external monitors are not
detected by the system, even on the login screen. They also do not
appear in the output of xrandr - there's only the internal display of
the laptop:
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 4096 x 4096
None-1 connected primary 1920x1080+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y
axis) 0mm x 0mm
- 1920x1080 60.00*+
+ 1920x1080 60.00*+
The issue disappears (both external monitors work normally) if I boot
from GRUB using the old kernel and reappears whenever I boot again using
6.11.0-13-generic.
