Thanks for this fast feedback! After installing today's updates (linux-
image-generic:i386 3.13.0.23.27 among others) and testing suspend to RAM
and to disk, both worked. The only thing I changed besides the updates
was removing the "nomodeset" kernel parameter. I cannot say if it was
this parameter or the kernel update or anything else, but it works now.
