Public bug reported:

ACPI BIOS Errors and i915 Warnings on Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS (Kernel 6.11.0-26) —
ASUS VivoBook X513EA, BIOS Updated
Bug Description:

On Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS using kernel 6.11.0-26-generic, I consistently receive
ACPI BIOS errors and i915 driver warnings during boot. These are visible in
both journalctl and dmesg logs. I have confirmed that the BIOS is fully updated
to the latest version from ASUS, but the issue persists.
System Information:

    OS: Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS

    Kernel: 6.11.0-26-generic

    Previous Kernel: 6.11.0-25-generic

    System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.

    Model: VivoBook X513EA (ASUSLaptop X513EA_K513EA)

    System Version: 1.0

    BIOS Version: X513EA.318

    BIOS Date: 03/28/2024

CPU: Intel 11th Gen Core (Tiger Lake)

GPU: Intel TigerLake-LP GT2 [Iris Xe Graphics]

Graphics Driver: i915 (built into the kernel)

Observed Behavior (from journalctl & dmesg):

ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Could not resolve symbol [\CTDP], AE_NOT_FOUND
(20240322/psargs-332)
ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.IETM.IDSP due to previous error (AE_NOT_FOUND)
ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Could not resolve symbol
[\_SB.PC00.LPCB.EC0.SEN1._CRT.S1CT], AE_NOT_FOUND
...
i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* Port F/TC#3: timeout waiting for PHY ready

WARNING: CPU: 4 PID: 641 at drivers/gpu/drm/i915/display/intel_tc.c:740
tgl_tc_phy_init+0x117/0x140 [i915]

(Many similar ACPI errors related to _CRT, _HOT, _PSV, _AC0, and recurring i915
TC port PHY timeouts.)
Expected Behavior:

System should boot without ACPI or i915-related warnings/errors, especially
with up-to-date firmware.
Steps to Reproduce:

Boot Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS using kernel 6.11.0-26.

    Run journalctl -b or dmesg.

Observe the listed ACPI and i915 error messages.

Additional Notes:

BIOS version is latest available from ASUS as of March 28, 2024.

The ACPI issues seem to be due to missing or unresolved DSDT/ACPI
symbols, which may affect power and thermal management.

The i915 warnings appear to relate to USB-C / Thunderbolt (Type-C)
PHY timeout or initialization failures.
