Public bug reported: [Impact] The gnome desktop may freeze while running sleepgraph/sleep test. There are xe driver errors in the dmesg [19614.917644] ubuntu-202411-36032 kernel: xe 0000:00:02.0: [drm] GT0: Engine reset: engine_class=bcs, logical_mask: 0x2, guc_id=0 [19614.917655] ubuntu-202411-36032 kernel: xe 0000:00:02.0: [drm] GT0: Timedout job: seqno=36574, lrc_seqno=36574, guc_id=0, flags=0x13 [19614.918061] ubuntu-202411-36032 kernel: xe 0000:00:02.0: [drm] Xe device coredump has been created [19614.918062] ubuntu-202411-36032 kernel: xe 0000:00:02.0: [drm] Check your /sys/class/drm/card1/device/devcoredump/data [19614.918064] ubuntu-202411-36032 kernel: xe 0000:00:02.0: [drm] GT0: Kernel-submitted job timed out [Fix] The commit from v6.16-rc1 fixes the issue. 0ee54d5cacc0 drm/xe/sched: stop re-submitting signalled jobs [Test] Run fwts s3 test multiple times, there should be no any xe driver call trace in the dmesg, and gnome desktop should keep working after the test. [Where problems could occur] It adds more checks to prevent the job to be submitted twice during suspending. Should be pretty safe to include this. ** Affects: hwe-next Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux-oem-6.11 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux-oem-6.11 (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Assignee: AceLan Kao (acelankao) Status: In Progress ** Affects: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Assignee: AceLan Kao (acelankao) Status: In Progress ** Tags: jira-somerville-2404 oem-priority somerville ** Also affects: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-6.11 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux-oem-6.11 (Ubuntu Noble) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu Noble) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: linux-oem-6.11 (Ubuntu Noble) Assignee: (unassigned) => AceLan Kao (acelankao) ** Changed in: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu Noble) Assignee: (unassigned) => AceLan Kao (acelankao) ** Changed in: linux-oem-6.11 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Tags added: jira-somerville-2404 oem-priority somerville ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 2114697 [SRU] Fix GT0: Engine reset when suspend on Intel LNL -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-oem-6.11 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2115392 Title: Gnome freeze during sleepgraph testing Status in HWE Next: New Status in linux-oem-6.11 package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in linux-oem-6.14 package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in linux-oem-6.11 source package in Noble: In Progress Status in linux-oem-6.14 source package in Noble: In Progress Bug description: [Impact] The gnome desktop may freeze while running sleepgraph/sleep test.
