Are you able to try out other kernels between 6.8.0-57.59 and 6.8.0-65.68 to narrow down at what version it stopped working?
For example: sudo apt install linux-image-6.8.0-58-generic sudo apt install linux-image-6.8.0-59-generic sudo apt install linux-image-6.8.0-60-generic sudo apt install linux-image-6.8.0-62-generic sudo apt install linux-image-6.8.0-63-generic sudo apt install linux-image-6.8.0-64-generic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-hwe-6.8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2119655 Title: BFD session via bond interface cannot be established Status in linux-hwe-6.8 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: That one's a bit special, but once we booted into 6.8.0-65.68, the BFD session in bird wouldn't come up. It was toggling between the states "Init" and "Down" With the previous version 6.8.0-57.59 it would work ok (booted back into that one to test) # /usr/sbin/birdc -rv show bfd sessions 0001 BIRD 1.6.8 ready. 0016 Access restricted 1020-bfd1: IP address Interface State Since Interval Timeout 141.42.4.42 bond0 Up 15:58:16 0.200 0.600 141.42.4.43 bond0 Up 15:58:16 0.200 0.600 The bird.conf: === snip === log stderr all; router id from "bond0"; # Lokale Devices/Interfaces einbeziehen. # u.a. fuer die automatische Erkennung der RouterID notwendig protocol device { scan time 10; }; protocol bfd { interface "bond0" { interval 200 ms; multiplier 3; passive; }; neighbor 141.42.4.42; neighbor 141.42.4.43; }; === snap === ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 Package: linux-image-6.8.0-65-generic 6.8.0-65.68~22.04.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.8.0-57.59~22.04.1-generic 6.8.12 Uname: Linux 6.8.0-57-generic x86_64 AlsaDevices: total 0 crw-rw---- 1 root audio 116, 1 Aug 6 15:58 seq crw-rw---- 1 root audio 116, 33 Aug 6 15:58 timer AplayDevices: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'aplay' ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu82.10 Architecture: amd64 ArecordDevices: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'arecord' AudioDevicesInUse: Error: command ['fuser', '-v', '/dev/snd/timer', '/dev/snd/seq'] failed with exit code 1: CasperMD5CheckResult: unknown Date: Wed Aug 6 16:38:31 2025 IwConfig: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'iwconfig' MachineType: HP ProLiant DL360p Gen8 PciMultimedia: ProcFB: 0 simpledrmdrmfb ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-6.8.0-57-generic root=UUID=c6fc71dd-f3ee-46dd-827f-c03d86f6eefa ro gfxpayload=text nomodeset intel_iommu=igfx_off intremap=off RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-6.8.0-57-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-6.8.0-57-generic N/A linux-firmware 20220329.git681281e4-0ubuntu3.37 RfKill: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'rfkill' SourcePackage: linux-hwe-6.8 UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to jammy on 2024-04-09 (484 days ago) WifiSyslog: dmi.bios.date: 07/01/2015 dmi.bios.vendor: HP dmi.bios.version: P71 dmi.chassis.type: 23 dmi.chassis.vendor: HP dmi.ec.firmware.release: 2.82 dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnHP:bvrP71:bd07/01/2015:efr2.82:svnHP:pnProLiantDL360pGen8:pvr:cvnHP:ct23:cvr:sku654081-B21: dmi.product.family: ProLiant dmi.product.name: ProLiant DL360p Gen8 dmi.product.sku: 654081-B21 dmi.sys.vendor: HP To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-6.8/+bug/2119655/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
