[BUG FIXED]
The linux kernel 6.14.0-28 was corrupted after a failed attempt updating to a
newer Nvidia driver. Later, when I was trying to boot from GRUB menu, it
proceeded me to 'initramfs' shell and I got stuck there forever, had tried
'exit', 'reboot', 'repair-boot' but nothing worked but luckily I found out that
my older kernel version was still there - 6.14.0-27. SO I turned off and on the
pc again and from GRUB menu, I booted the previous kernel version Ubuntu
6.14.0-27.27~24.04.1-generic successfully and performed these:
-- sudo apt update
-- sudo apt upgrade
You'll see these lines in the upgrade:
Setting up linux-hwe-6.14-tools-6.14.0-28 (6.14.0-28.28~24.04.1) ...
Setting up linux-hwe-6.14-headers-6.14.0-28 (6.14.0-28.28~24.04.1) ...
Setting up linux-modules-extra-6.14.0-28-generic (6.14.0-28.28~24.04.1) ...
Setting up linux-headers-6.14.0-28-generic (6.14.0-28.28~24.04.1) ...
Setting up linux-modules-nvidia-575-6.14.0-28-generic (6.14.0-28.28~24.04.1) ...
To make sure the latest Nvidia driver is already installed, I typed in termial:
-- cat /proc/driver/nvidia/version
It returned something like this:
NVRM version: NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module 575.64.03 Wed Jun 25 18:40:52
UTC 2025
Rebooted and things work fine now
