Bug description:
[kernel SRU Justification]
[Impact]
WiFi 7 feature MLO (Multi-Link Operation) on Mediatek MT7925 is not
supported yet.
[Fix]
The following kernel patches are required
https://patchwork.kernel.org/project/linux-wireless/patch/[email protected]/
https://patchwork.kernel.org/project/linux-wireless/patch/[email protected]/
The latest linux-firmware for 2ccae12c4f73 (mediatek MT7925: update
bluetooth firmware to 20250721233113) and ebf45cd0f8 ("linux-firmware:
update firmware for MT7925 WiFi device") need to be backported for MLO
[Test Case]
1. Boot up machine with MT7925 wifi adapter with kernel and linux-firmware w/
MLO supported
2. Successfully established a Wi-Fi connection with MLO capability on the AP
side. The wireless links attached to MLD should be greater than 1, which can be
verified using `iw dev`
$ iw dev
phy#0
Unnamed/non-netdev interface
wdev 0xf
addr dc:45:46:44:50:26
type P2P-device
Interface wlp0s20f3
......
......
MLD with links:
- link ID 0 link addr 06:fe:8e:8a:8f:14
- link ID 2 link addr 4e:23:75:ef:d4:5a
channel 161 (5805 MHz), width: 80 MHz, center1: 5775 MHz
[Where problems could occur]
Features for MT7925 MLO are expected but we but no if full feature are
ready yet or not.
