Bug description:
  Mainline kernel 3.14.1 (linux-
  image-3.14.1-031401-generic_3.14.1-031401.201404141220_i386.deb)
  didn't hit this. I think it's probably because my current kernel
  (3.13.0-27-generic) doesn't include the following patch:
