** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1308922 There is no way to change the bluetooth system name from the standard GUI -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to bluez in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/450862 Title: Bluetooh fails to remember bt-device's name when toggled off/on Status in “bluez” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Binary package hint: bluez Bluetooth is not remembering the user settings when toggling. To reproduce the error just right click on the bluetooth icon and go to preferences. Then change the name to a friendly name and check "Make computer discoverable". Then right click on the tray icon again and turn off bluetooth and then back on. Now when going back into preferences you'll notice that everything is back to it's original settings.
