I'm not sure if it's fixed or not. On the machines there are 2 slots, one icon on the machine is head phone, and another icon is microphone. With the dkms, plug-in the microphone into the microphone jack, in the audio settings the input device will switch to external microphone. With the proposed kernel, plug-in the microphone into microphone jack, nothing happens, but plug-in into head phone jack, it works.
I've tested headset and pure microphone and plugin to the microphone jack, the behavior is the same, with dkms it works, but with preposed kernel, nothing happens. It looks like the only working jack is the headphone jack. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Released => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1350148 Title: [ HP Z1 G2 Touch Workstation] right side mic jack can't work Status in HWE Next Project: Fix Released Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Description: While plugging mic to side input jack, the device list does not receive any update in Sound setting.
