Title: makedumpfile --dump-dmesg fails on 3.5 kernels and later Status in “makedumpfile” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: When used on Ubuntu running kernel 3.5 and later (Quantal, raring and Precise 12.04.02) the makedumpfile --dump-dmesg /proc/vmcore /tmp/dmesg fails with the following error : # makedumpfile --dump-dmesg /proc/vmcore /tmp/dmesg dump_dmesg: Can't find some symbols for log_buf. makedumpfile Failed.
