Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.17 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, 
please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as 
"Confirmed".

Title:
  Logitech C920 Webcam does not create device anymore

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  When plugging the Logitech C920 web cam on 3.8.13.23 armhf kernel, it
  is intialized. However, no device is created at /dev/video* .

  dmesg shows:

  [  612.249822] usb 1-3.1: new high-speed USB device number 6 using s5p-ehci
  [  613.467075] usb 1-3.1: New USB device found, idVendor=046d, idProduct=082d
  [  613.467084] usb 1-3.1: New USB device strings: Mfr=0, Product=2,

  [  613.467090] usb 1-3.1: Product: HD Pro Webcam C920
  [  613.467095] usb 1-3.1: SerialNumber: C49902DF

  but nothing more. It also shows up on lsusb.

  
  This is a regression, the camera does work with Ubuntu 12.04 armhf.
