You have been subscribed to a public bug: Whatever the Macbook Pro is running on AC power or on battery, gutsy always sets the screen backlight to a very low level after some inactivity time (watching a video for instance). Manually setting the backlight value to a correct one just fixes the issue until it is decreased again by the system.
