Public bug reported:

Asus 1015CX notebook
Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 32 bit up-to-date

If the notebook is powered on with an external VGA monitor, not video at
LVDS. Only 800x600 output foer VGA.

xrandr doesn't work. Impossible to turn on LVDS.

If the notebook is powered on without external VGA monitor, LVDS is
correctly configured at 1024x600. In this case, xrandr works. If an
external VGA monitor is after connected it can be managed using xrandr.
However, no video is showed at VGA monitor until xrandr is used.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
