Vincenzo Costa, just to advise, the live environment won't ever work if you don't actually install the bcmwl-kernel-source module (i.e. install proprietary software via Additional Drivers). Did you do this in the live environment?

It works ok with the 3.13.0-40 original linux kernel, but after installing the linux-generic-lts-utopic kernel (version 3.16-25) the wireless interface does not appear any more. The kubuntu applet for network connections does not allow to switch the wireless network on. Booting back with 3.13 kernel can fix the issue, so it's not a hardware problem.
