Everything is working great except for the internet download speed I have ran speed tests from various sites and here's what I get (http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/) Download Speed: 725 kbps (90.6 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 2088 kbps (261 KB/sec transfer rate) Download speed is painfully slow, but upload speeds are consistently fine. I have read several forum articles and did what they have asked: 1. Setting the mtu to 1500 2. Disabling ipv6 ( by modifying /etc/modprobe.d/aliases) and also putting this line "alias net-pf-10 off" in the bad_list file. Here is some more information that may help: =================================================== lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10 =================================================== ifconfig eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:21:97:a1:87:09 inet addr:192.168.2.95 Bcast:192.168.2.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:9933 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:12020 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:8700097 (8.7 MB) TX bytes:6275211 (6.2 MB) Interrupt:220 Base address:0x8000 lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:38 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:38 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:2808 (2.8 KB) TX bytes:2808 (2.8 KB) ============================================= lspci 00:00.0 Host bridge: nVidia Corporation Device 07c3 (rev a2) 00:00.1 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation nForce 630i memory controller (rev a2) 00:01.0 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation nForce 630i memory controller (rev a1) 00:01.1 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation nForce 630i memory controller (rev a1) 00:01.2 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation nForce 630i memory controller (rev a1) 00:01.3 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation nForce 630i memory controller (rev a1) 00:01.4 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation nForce 630i memory controller (rev a1) 00:01.5 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation nForce 630i memory controller (rev a1) 00:01.6 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation nForce 630i memory controller (rev a1) 00:02.0 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation nForce 630i memory controller (rev a1) 00:03.0 ISA bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP73 LPC Bridge (rev a2) 00:03.1 SMBus: nVidia Corporation MCP73 SMBus (rev a1) 00:03.2 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation MCP73 Memory Controller (rev a1) 00:03.4 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation MCP73 Memory Controller (rev a1) 00:04.0 USB Controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce 7100/nForce 630i (rev a1) 00:04.1 USB Controller: nVidia Corporation MCP73 [nForce 630i] USB 2.0 Controller (EHCI) (rev a1) 00:08.0 IDE interface: nVidia Corporation MCP73 IDE (rev a1) 00:09.0 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP73 High Definition Audio (rev a1) 00:0a.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP73 PCI Express bridge (rev a1) 00:0b.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP73 PCI Express bridge (rev a1) 00:0c.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP73 PCI Express bridge (rev a1) 00:0d.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP73 PCI Express bridge (rev a1) 00:0e.0 IDE interface: nVidia Corporation Device 07f0 (rev a2) 00:10.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce 7050/nForce 610i (rev a2) 04:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
