I agree. We need something comparable to GEOM, but better thought out to 
eliminate the performance disadvantages of GEOM.

It would be nice if we could also eliminate the need for disklabels. 
Maybe we could have some sort of direct mapping between EFI GUID 
partitions and disklabel partitions.
