G'day Guys,

Just a quick question.

From the tuning(7) man page:
Additionally, higher-end CPUs support 4MB MMU pages, which the kernel
uses to map the kernel itself into memory, increasing its efficiency
under heavy syscall loads.

As this 4MB MMU pages have direct impact on TLB usage, it improves the
performance significantly. However, I am wondering whether the same
tuning can be applied to other parts of the kernel? e.g, can't we map
mbuf clusters to 4MB MMU pages instead of 4K pages to improve the
performance under heavy network load?

Cheers
kmb
