This is keeping over 1000 packages from building because of the dependency
- can someone point at a reason for this package to fail this way?

Oh sorry, I forgot about that. You need to update the ldconfig cache, I think. Strange thing - gcc should add -R to the right path itself. Maybe I've fixed that, maybe I forgot?
