Folks, This probably came up already, but probably worth passing on. Very recent kernels compiled with GCC 4.5 are occasionally hitting problems with the alignment of ftrace structs. I hit this overnight on one of my module-init-tools test systems running a non-Fedora kernel from another Linux distribution. Kyle et al might want to look at e.g.:
