We are exiting a weird period that pops up every couple of years, so I
figured I would explain what the current status is on a few things.

The 5.8 kernel will be the release kernel for Fedora 33. Yes, 5.9
will likely be out when Fedora 33 releases, but current projections
would put 5.9 on October 11th, which is just too close to the Fedora
33 GA date of October 20th. As a result of this, I waited for the
Fedora 33 branch before moving forward with rawhide. Rawhide will
start moving forward as usual again now. The 5.8 kernels will be
maintained in Fedora 33 until release, and the 5.9 kernels will be
available as an update shortly after the Fedora 33 release.

Fedora 32 and 31 should get 5.8 in 2 weeks or so, depending on the
results of the test week. The 5.8 kernel test week is August 17th -
21st. The more real hardware testing we get during test week, the
better.

Thanks,
Justin
