I did a quick test on a beaker machine I reserved. It was a Lenovo system with "Intel(R) Xeon(R) E E-2486", 16GB of memory and looks to have SSD storage. From what I remember to have looked at journalctl -k output and doing the math (I had the same curiosity about speed), I got around 4-6 second speedup on boot. I believe is due to less stress on udev/module loading on bootup.
