The 2.99 was inspired by the variables `RHEL_MAJOR = 10` and `RHEL_MINOR = 99` but IIUC RHEL 10 will be the basis for RHIVOS 2. Initially I ran into a lot of issues with nearly everything using `:=` and in an attempt to get past that I may have changed some that don't strictly need to be updated.
