Hi there!

While I'm getting more interested in kernel related issues, I noticed
that some documentation gets out of date...
I'm attending some university classes about operating systems, so I've
learned that, by example, the 'semaphore' structure has been
deprecated and replaced with mutex, completions and wait queues.

So this is my question: how can I understand on the fly if a structure
is still usable, and eventually what kind of new structure should I
use instead?

Thanks in Advance
John Simonson
