I downloaded the latest copy of the 2.6.24 kernel and recompiled it in my old machine - redhat 8, and after booting up, I got the error "No setup signature found". A search in the internet did not reveal much info.
This is what I do: make defconfig make make modules_install make install and that's all I did, and reboot. RH8 is also using grub. (someone has the same problem - at http://mark.santaniello.com/archives/category/linux, and suggested does not work, as the dierctory does not exists.) The only other kernel in this RH8 is 2.4.18-14. Thanks. Any ideas?
