>From my limited knowledge, I think config_frame_pointer is what you need if you just need to reliably see the 1st, 2nd frame. But if you need to make sure you see the whole chain almost correctly, then you might need the other options too. Unwinding stack...AFAIK..is something that gdb does too in order to track call chain. And it costs you some perfomance degradation.
